After 25 years of providing office psychotherapy, I am delighted to be offering Walk Talk Therapy. Walking and talking engages more of our brains and bodies and can be both motivating and calming. In addition to seeing adults, I have vast experience with teens and young adults, and welcome children over 13 years old who do not need a traditional office setting.
About my interpersonal style:
Clients say “I am easy to open up to, gentle but not touchy-feely, and impossible to freak out”
While not the type to be cracking jokes, sometimes there is a place for humor in mental health
I connect very easily with teens and young adults
Both practical and intuitive, I love developing a solid action plan, but am equally curious about a gut feeling or an unsettling dream you can’t seem to forget
I want to know how therapy is going for you and how we are doing as a team
About my therapeutic approach:
My training is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Therapy
Therapy provides a safe relationship in which to express ideas, feelings and wishes
I believe that our mind and body affect each other and play a significant role in mental health
I’ve worked extensively with creative mind and body calming techniques
With complete respect for you and your feelings, I will encourage you to make changes
About my personal life:
I am married and have two young adult children who are both inching their way out of the nest
Raising children has been more gratifying, transformative and challenging than I ever would have imagined
I love music (all kinds), animals (all kinds) and travel (anywhere)
